Taige is a composer, sound artist, and audio specialist who specializes in creating immersive sound spaces working in both acoustic and electronic mediums. His works range from solo to large ensemble acoustic works. His penchant for collaboration has led him to work with directors and choreographers to compose music for mixed media, theatre, and dance. In addition to his programmed works, he also has also authored several compelling sound art installations. He holds a Master of Music Composition from The University of Hartford (The Hartt School) where he studied with Ken Steen, Robert Carl, and Gilda Lyons. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in Classical Guitar and Composition from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he studied with John Allemeier.
His works have been performed at the Hartford New music Festival, at the Highscore Festival in Pavia, Italy. His works for bass have been commissioned and performed for outstanding soloists such as Evan Runyon and Zachary Rowden. His commission “Texture and Movement for Four” by La’Ventus Saxophone Quartet was premiered at Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium in January 2015.
